What’s in a name?

01 / SPEED

Plaid & Performance

Plaid is the three-motor performance version of Model S and X. Model 3 and Y use the Performance name. Cybertruck’s three-motor version is Cyberbeast.

02 / COMFORT

Premium

Premium denotes a richer equipment package on current Model 3, Y and Cybertruck variants. It does not automatically mean more motors or faster acceleration.

03 / CLARITY

Platinum?

Platinum is not a Tesla factory trim. If you see that name in a listing, check the seller’s description. Long Range, AWD, Premium and Plaid are different designations.

ROBOTICS, ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

Beyond the vehicles.

Tesla’s machines, the places that build them, and sourced notes on autonomy, batteries, energy and charging.

THE FINE PRINT, MADE CLEAR

Read the numbers correctly.

Prices are U.S. dollars. Historical price bands are published model-year MSRP snapshots from Cars.com, not an annual average, used value or guaranteed transaction price. Tesla changes prices throughout a year. Concept targets and launch packages are labeled separately.

Specifications belong to a trim. The 2026 trim tables list selected published configurations. Range depends on wheels and configuration; EPA estimates and manufacturer estimates are labeled. Performance acceleration may subtract rollout. Historical years do not inherit today’s specifications.

Changes roll out during production. Model year alone does not identify every hardware change. Check build date, VIN, wheels and original equipment for an individual vehicle. Photos represent the design of the selected year. When a year has no photograph of its own, the gallery uses the correct generation and says so. Tesla.com marketing images are not republished here: Tesla’s site terms reserve those images and do not grant a license to copy or redistribute them.
